4 Points of the Diamond™ X Science of Sport STEM Scholarship
STEM Access Scholarship (Need-Based)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance and mentorship to high school students from underserved communities who have demonstrated a strong interest in STEM and participated in Science of Sport programming.
Eligibility: 9th–11th grade students who have financial need and a passion for science, technology, engineering, or math—especially those who have experienced the impact of sports-based STEM education.
Award Includes:
– $300-$500 financial scholarship
– Year-long mentorship (quarterly sessions) with a STEM professional
– Summer internship opportunities
– Feature in Science of Sport’s newsletter and/or social media
Selection Criteria:
– Demonstrated financial need
– Prior engagement with Natasha Watley Foundation or Science of Sport
– A short application and personal reflection essay
Future Innovator in Sports Science Award (Field-Specific)
Purpose: To recognize high school students with a strong interest in pursuing a career in a STEM field, ranging from aerospace, sports medicine, engineering, computer science, data analytics, and beyond.
Eligibility: 9th–11th grade students with a specific interest in STEM careers that intersect with the world of sports.
Award Includes:
– $300-$500 financial scholarship
– Mentorship with a professional in the student’s field of interest
– Summer internship opportunities
– Opportunity to present a mini-project or concept to a Science of Sport panel
Selection Criteria:
– Interest and potential in a sports-related STEM field
– Creativity and communication in a short project or essay
– Optional project submission (infographic, short video, or design concept)
